France Polka Dot Socks

France is the perfect starting place for our epic 12-month journey. For starters, it’s the world’s most popular tourist destination. From the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre in Paris to the cities along the French Riviera to its many wine regions, the country draws around 90 million visitors every year. But let’s be honest: The real star of the show is the food. Which is why in January, we’re sending our sock club subscribers croissant socks.

France for Breakfast socks

Croissants bake the world a butter place, and even if you can’t get away to France for a trip, we hope slipping on these socks feels like a mini-vacation for your feet. There’s no doubt that these cartoon croissants are French, too—some have mustaches, and some are wearing berets! When people compliment you on them, you can tell them this bit of foodie trivia: Though most people associate croissants with France, they were actually invented in Austria and originally called kipfel. And speaking of French food trivia, did you know that France produces nearly a billion tons of cheese a year? That’s a lot of Brie.

These socks are coming at the perfect time, too: January 30th is National Croissant Day. So say “bonjour” to these cozy croissant socks, fill your bread basket with the flaky pastry (and the other carbs of your choice), and celebrate to your heart’s content. We can’t wait until our paths croissant again in February.
